WELCOME TO THE CORTEX PROJECT
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Launched in September 2017, CORTEX aims to develop an innovative core monitoring technique that allows detecting anomalies in nuclear reactors.
Workshops & Courses
A series of workshops and courses will be organised during the CORTEX project to disseminate knowledge and train the scientific community.
Project resources
All of the project’s resources will be available directly from the website. This includes: newsletters, promotional materials, publications, public deliverables and presentations.
CORTEX VIDEO
Watch our video to learn how CORTEX can help maintain nuclear power plants operational and safe.
FOUR
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE 1
To develop simulation tools that will be specifically dedicated to the modelling of the stationary fluctuations’ effect in power reactors with a high level of fidelity
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE 3
Advanced signal analysis and machine learning techniques will be combined with reactor transfer function modelling capabilities
STRATEGIC OBEJECTIVE 2
The validation of the simulation tools will be performed using reactor experiments specifically designed for noise analysis applications
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE 4
The modelling capabilities for the estimation of the reactor transfer function and the advanced signal analysis techniques need to be combined into a set of tools that can be directly used for analysing plant data and performing core diagnostics
