Two Postdoc positions have opened at PSI!

As part of the CORTEX project, The Paul Scherrer Institut (PSI) has opened two Postdoc positions:
  • The 1st one concerning Numerical Noise Modelling and Simulations
==> The tasks:
– Further development of PSI methodologies for numerical modelling and simulations of reactor noise
– Validation of simulated neutron noise signatures against experimental data
– Generation of large sets of simulated noise data and assessment of machine learning algorithms for localisation and characterisation of noise sources
– Contribution to the EURATOM CORTEX project
– Presentation of results in scientific publications and project reports
– Participation to education activities and to the elaboration of research proposals
  • The 2nd one concerning Reactor core Analysis
==> The tasks:
– Establishment of reference core analysis methodology with CASMO-5/SIMULATE-5 codes for the Swiss BWRs
– Development of advanced verification and validation procedures for Swiss LWR core simulations based on trend and correlation analyses with data science techniques
– Advancement of higher-resolution 3D pin-by-pin core simulators without spatial homogenisation for steady-state and transient analysis of current and innovative PWRs
– Presentation of results in scientific publications and project reports
– Participation to education activities and to the elaboration of research proposals
